5.2 The RS-485 Terminal Block
The 3-hole terminal block on the right side of the camera base can be used to make an RS-485
connection to the camera.
The assignments for the wire fixing holes in the terminal block are as shown below. The A+, B-, and
Gnd connections are standard for an RS-485 connection. The RS-485 ground is isolated from the
camera’s power ground and I/O ground.

The terminal block is a push-in type of connector. Either solid or stranded wires can be inserted into
the wire fixing holes in the terminal block. A wire can be removed from a fixing hole by pressing the
release tab above the hole and pulling on the wire.
Wires inserted into the fixing holes must have a minimum cross section of 0.2 mm
2
(AWG 24) and
a maximum cross section of 1.5 mm
2
(AWG 16).
8 mm (5/16") of insulation should be stripped from the end of a wire before it is inserted into a fixing
hole.
